Famous Mineral Water Company
In the late 19th century, Texas was well known for its mineral
water resorts. Henry Sigerist, a medical historian, reported that Texas
had the second most mineral springs of any state, trailing only Wyoming.
People flocked to Texas by the thousands and were consumed with the
mineral springs for one reason¬—to benefit from the healthful qualities
of the waters.

Clark Gardens
Surrounded by native woodlands and tucked away down a country road
between Weatherford and Mineral Wells, Texas, is Clark Gardens Botanical
Park. Its story is one of hard work, dreams and the visions of Max and
Billie Clark. What began as the Clark's private garden in 1972 - a small
personal endeavor of traditional landscaping on this rugged Texas
hillside - is now a botanical masterpiece.

Canoe on the Brazos
- The Brazos River is a throwback to days of old when Comanches
dominated the area. It remains largely undeveloped as it has for
hundreds of years. The section between Possum Kingdom Dam and US Highway
180, at about 41.4 miles downriver, is a Class I flat-water stream with
occasional small rapids.

Palo Pinto
Lake - Lake Palo Pinto, located on Palo
Pinto Creek in the Brazos River basin is 15 miles southwest of Mineral
Wells in Palo Pinto County. Best fishing for largemouth bass, white
bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, white crappie.

Possum Kingdom Lake
- Possum Kingdom Lake was created when the
Morris Sheppard Dam was completed in 1941. The dam was built across the
Brazos River west Of Mineral Wells, Texas. Possum Kingdom Lake
covers approx. 17,700 acres. Activities
at Possum Kingdom Lake include: boating, skiing, swimming, fishing and
weekly fishing tournaments, golfing at "The Cliffs", camping,
picnicking, hiking, and plenty of wildlife observation and photography.

Lake Mineral Wells / Rock Climbing -Lake
Mineral Wells State Park is located along Rock Creek, a large tributary
of the Brazos River. This area was an early home to several Native
American tribes including the Comanche.

The National Vietnam War
Museum -The
museum will tell the unbiased story of the more than 5 million
servicemen and servicewomen who served there; the civilian contractors
who supported their efforts; the Vietnamese people, their culture and
history; and those on the home front, both those who supported and those
who protested the war.

Mineral Wells Fossil Park -This
public fossil park will be available for fossil collecting by
individuals or groups. Typical finds here are crinoids, trilobites, and
brachiopods of the Pennsylvanian Age.

Baker Hotel
-The Baker was built by hotel magnate
T. B. Baker who
already owned the Baker in Dallas and the Saint Anthony in San Antonio.
The Crazy Well Hotel AKA The Crazy Hotel had proven that the business
was there in Mineral Wells. When the Crazy burned in 1925 - a more
lavish hotel was planned with twice the number of stories of the Crazy
and more than twice the number of rooms.

Fort Worth Stockyards
- For terrific shopping, sight-seeing, and Longhorn viewing, you won't

Texas Motor Speedway- Known as The Great American Speedway, Fort Worth's Texas Motor
Speedway is the place to be for high-adrenaline racing action. From
March to November this track hosts events like the Pro-Cuts Texas World
Dirt Track Championship, the Samsung 500 (a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series
race), and Qualifying Night, an IRL IndyCar Series and NASCAR Craftsman
Truck Series practice and qualifying event.

Ameriquest Field - In lovely Arlington
Texas, you'll find this beautiful, state-of-the art facility, home to
the
Texas Rangers. Built in 1994, Ameriquest Field is a
baseball-only park in the heart of a 270-acre complex. The park, which
holds over 49,000 fans, is designed with Texas-style architecture
